Personal information provided on the application form will be used solely for purposes related to church hire, and for the anonymised collection of data on church usage.
Conditions of Use
All events must honour the church’s status as a historic building and place of worship. Users are expected to show respect for:
- The church's long-standing heritage
- Its architectural integrity
- The Christian groups who regularly worship here
The Whangarei Heads Historic Church Protection Trust (WHHCPT) reserves the right to approve or decline any application. All decisions are final.
Housekeeping Guidelines
Decorations
- Please refrain from using pins, tacks, nails, staples, cellotape, or masking tape on any woodwork, including pews
- Acceptable alternatives: Blu-Tack, ribbons, or other gentle fasteners
Confetti & Flowers
- Confetti, real flower petals, or similar items are not allowed inside the church or porch
- Pottery flower containers must be tested for leaks—porous materials can damage furniture
- Do not place any flower arrangements on the new electric organ
Furniture Handling
- The old organ must not be moved under any circumstances
- The new electric organ may be repositioned against the front wall but must remain inside the main church area (not the porch)
- Chairs and lecterns may be rearranged within the church and porch area
After your event:
- All furniture must be returned to its original layout by 5:00 p.m. Saturday evening; This is to allow preparation for the Saturday evening and early Sunday services (A plan for furniture placement will be supplied with the booking confirmation)
- Please ensure the church and porch are left clean and tidy
- A vacuum cleaner is available in the toilet area
- You are responsible for the replacement or cost of any damaged or missing items
Alcohol
Alcohol is strictly prohibited inside the church and within church grounds.
